4-H Youth Development
For Teens Only

Teens in Madison County can become involved in many special projects from helping their club as a teen leader to helping the 4-H staff plan and organize county-wide events such as the Youth Fair and Spirit Day. Our teens recently organized the first ROCKATHON – a highly successful FUNdraiser.

Teens may work with the 4-H staff as paid assistants at the Youth Fair and help organize the October Spirit Day celebration. They may become Teen Ambassadors to promote the 4-H message in their counties.

Many fun and educational trips are available for teens through the NYS 4-H program. Consider the STARR Retreat, Career Explorations, Dairy Discovery, March Dog Madness, the Washington Focus trip, Teen Winter Weekend and many more.

The NYS Fair offers other opportunities for teens beyond showing their animals and projects. Teen Assistants are paid to help in the Youth Building, to be on the Welcome Committee, to present their sewing projects in the Fashion Revue, to work on the 4-H Press Corps and to work with the animal superintendents.
